From June, 16th - 22nd, 2024 it will finally start again: the TOUR Transalp. Hundreds of cycling enthusiasts will once again take on the adventure of crossing the Alps this week, covering 17.600 meters of altitude and 800 kilometers on their road bikes on the route from Lienz, in Austria to Riva de Garda, in Italy. Exciting innovations and great highlights await. For almost two decades, every year hundreds of cyclists have been taking part in the TOUR Transalp - the popular road bike stage race across the Alps. Despite this long history - or precisely because of it - the organizers always do everything they can to ensure that the choice of route does not become routine. Thus, even in 2024, there will be exclusive novelties in the demanding and attractive route.
Spectacular trails, stunning passes, well-known stage locations, professional event structure and participants from over 30 countries making this event a unique and unforgettable experience. In the last 20 years the TOUR Transalp has developed to one of the most famous and best known bicycle event. The fascinating alpine crossing is the absolute highlight for every amateur racing cyclist and provides an ideal communication platform for media and sponsors. "Planning a Transalp is a lengthy puzzle game in which not all the pieces always want to fit together right away. That's why I'm very happy that such a coherent picture emerged in the end: This compressed pack of mountain experiences without unnecessary accessories and with exciting novelties," says race director Marc Schneider about the new version of the TOUR Transalp. The TOUR Transalp awaits with unforgettable experiences in the midst of the most beautiful landscapes of the Alps, with breathtaking, but also energy-sapping pass roads and exhilarating descents, with sporting challenges and the inspiring community of like-minded people.
The TOUR Transalp 2024 offers so much variety in seven days that it's hard not to forget all the impressions as quickly as they whizz by. The changing landscapes - extravagant peaks scratching at the clouds, lush green alpine meadows lolling in the sun, deep gorges, wide plains, forests, fields, alpine meadows, vineyards - this change is as wild and unpredictable as it can only be on a Transalp. The Dolomites form the centerpiece. The list of passes is enough to make a racing cyclist's heart beat faster: Passo Falzarego, Passo Pordoi, Passo Fedaia, Passo Valles and Passo Rolle, there is no better way to experience these mountains on the road. But to measure the 2024 edition against the Dolomites alone would be too short-sighted. Even the Pustertal high road on the first day is an exquisite piece of panoramic riding and Monte Grappa, now a Transalp classic, tops off the panoramic factor with a clear view as far as the sea. Boredom takes place elsewhere. Exciting! - This is the TOUR Transalp 2024.
